BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - TACO BELL YESTERDAY, BURGER KING TODAY, Brooklyn, New York.

This is not so much a photo of FOOD as it is a journal of places and Menu's but whatever !

A lot lighter on the pocket than the bill I was presented with at the Manhattan Taco Bell location.

This is more Like It.

The extensive
Taco Bell Menu board.

I will have one of everything please.

This is why they RULE.

Inexpensive Menu and as you will notice just one penny below the next numerical dollar denomination in some cases.

Kings Highway TB facade.

A 'nother Taco Bell photo.

Taken "on the clock" somewhere on a One Hour PC job.

And this leads us to BK or Burger King which I adore and have but once a year (on the average).

Unfortunately on this day I was not in the best of moods and to aggravate me further was the caterwauling screech and din of what seemed thousands of high school students amongst me so this will just be a photoplay, BK ever the awesomeness it is. Eff Mickey Dee's

Hot Dogs ?!!!

Well this is new for them and I am yet to try one but boy do I want to.

Cristina and my serving tray.

These were not so great as the "Cheetos" moniker implies. Much like the Dunkin' Donuts Reeses Donut, please stop using tried and true names ya' Bastards !!!

The Cheetos Chicken Fries were just that. A Chicken Tender "Fry" shaped powdered in Cheetos Flavored Bread Crumbs.

Boy was I NOT impressed.

The French Fry. Essential with a Burger.

NOT ONLY BAGELS - Mexican Food - Brooklyn, New York

BURRITO ($6.00) - Really Good, Maybe Too Much Chicken which is never a complaint and there is Tomato which I somehow missed (see details below). A very simple Burrito made in an authentic place, the Avocado is really kicking it up in a great way. Rice is Perfect. No Hot Sauce and a very Mild Burrito but this can be easily remedied, Salsa should have been offered on the side but was not, barely a complaint, I am sure I could have asked. I might ask for more Beans but the Avocado makes up for it, good Flour Tortilla as well and wrapped perfectly, served in wax paper style where they cut it in half in the paper but done just right.

It was only several weeks ago that I saw my local Bagel store were expanding to make Burritos and other prepared foods now, up until then it was Taco's and Torta's. The sight lines to the Grill are nigh impossible but I found a spot (feeling a bit of an untrusting jerk) and watched as she did everything right, Chicken Grilling, Tortilla heating, then a slathering of something, was it Guacamole ? (it was Refried Beans), Lettuce on top, Spanish Rice on top, Avocado on top, Chicken on top and expertly wrapped as a Burrito but where was the Tomato ?, well that got by me because there is Tomato, I was also asked if I wanted Sour Cream and of course I gave a resounding YES.

ENCHILADA & TACOS - These were Joe's so I can't say first hand but they got no complaints from him and he is more a Gourmand than I am, they certainly look fantastic.

STEAK QUESADILLA - Nothing wrong with this at all but I got confused with a Chimichanga which I will assume they don't make since I believe there is no Deep Fryer on premises. Not my favorite of Mexican dishes but these were completely Delicious.

11/9/14 - CHICKEN TOSTADA ($2.75) - And Packed with White Meat Pollo, Diced Tomatoes & Lettuce also garnished with Sour Cream and the Smoky Hot Sauce.

PANCHO'S RESTAURANT 9/29/12 Brooklyn, New York

Authentic Mexican Food can be found very commonly in New York but some places are just Wonderfully Delicious, Pancho's is one of these places. The Good Yeggs were playing on the corner at the Three Jolly Pigeons Bar and arriving just early enough to grab a quick bite.

Jamie got the Enchilada.

Chimichanga

6/9/12 - Tostada's

10/14/12 - Bistec (Steak) Nachos - Pancho's To Go at Sean's house.

The Tinga Sopes retained too much of the Corn Tortilla (or in this case Sope) flavor but I knew that as I read the menu, Delicious but too "Corny" for my western palate.

TAQUERIA - Amsterdam Avenue

Not too many pix taken at Taqueria as there was Food to be eaten. This was indeed mexican food that I enjoyed very thoroughly and as soon as it was done I wanted more, I found the full color paper menu a bit odd for such a homespun place but did not really give it a second thought. On my third or fourth visit there my restauranteur and Food friend Joe deduced and rightfully so partially to the full color paper menu that "It's a chain" as in chain store restaurant. This did not dim my view of the food or the little Ramekins (thanks Jennie) that you brought your Salsa sauces back to the table in either. Chain or Not, delicious and NOT Taco Bell (which I also love for different reasons)

Ramekins are in the broiling pan under the "Specials of the day" bulletin board towards the right, Sauces and Salsa's are to the right of the Ramekins under the shelving.
