HE AINT HEAVY, HE`S MY BROTHER - Coca-Cola Campaign

They make "Tall Boys" of Beer so why not Soda ?

The 16 ounce can of Coke is supposedly a 7/11 exclusive but a few cases must have fallen off the back of a truck as I found this anomaly at a local Deli and pondered the ramifications of WHY NOT ?

More Fizz for your fiver, More Syrup for your synapses and of course More Carbonation in your can.

They appear to have vanished off the face of this earth many aeons ago but their legacy remains a dim and distant memory.

BURP

But its four ounces more. How can this be.

The marketing campaign designed to appeal to thrill seekers and devout followers was the "Frosty Cool Can" wherein a chilled container would display Blue ice cubes (meaning cold) and a room temperature serving would show aluminum silver (meaning room temperature).

Kinda Nifty, huh ?

TIME TO BAKE THE BREAD - Il Fornaretto Bakery - Brooklyn, New York

I awoke with a start and a craving for Ye' Olde cornerstone of "peasant" Food (no offense to the peasants) Italian Bread & Butter (never margarine) and decided to pay a visit to the closest neighborhood Bakery in my vicinity, Il Fornaretto Bakery of which I never stepped into.

After inferring about various items (pull apart olive bread anyone) and my interrogation concerning the daily availibilty of "Pizza Dough" I said to the counterperson "I've been living here nearly ten years and have never been here" and got a classic New York answer "Well, now you're here" of which I loved of course.

Loaves on parade.

1/20th of the window display.

Where the magic happens.

2/4/16 - The pull apart Olive Bread turned out to be a Loaf but was full of goodness as was the Seeded Roll.

REELING IN THE YEARS - Philly Steak-Umm Cheesteak Pancake Sammich - Does He Dare Do It Again ?

Well,... does he dare do it again ?.

Roundabout Thirty Years ago this monstrosity was created in a 3 a.m. debauchery of Munchiness and truth be told within a haze of a light hallucinogenecc induced waft of insanity, it was good then but shall it withstand now.

The good doctor is Newly Robed and still wears a Ramones t-shirt (thanks to Mr. Pasta and Jennie).

One Cooking hint is only one Slice of Pasteurized Processed Cheese Product seems to be enough
(in forethought) as this is a dense product (comments forthcoming) The Cheese that is. Let the Cheese sit for a few minutes to achieve room temperature before letting the Heated Chopped, Shaped and Thinly Sliced 100 % All Beef Sandwich Steaks to aggrandize the melting process inherent to the Curd

The Philly Steak-Umm Cheeseteak Sammich in all its Glory.

One Slice is enough.

HOME ON THE RANGE, where the deer and the antelope play, (and Leftovers for a week).

OH WHAT AN AWESOME SIGHT.

This was just magnificent and perhaps the crowning glory. Pastosa does indeed make a mean Stuffed Shell and bring on the competition.

This served as a Wonderous heat up and serve dish. I prepared the home made Sauce with extra Garlic and served a Tally Whacker amongst Tally Whackers feasting.

No such thing as Too Much Garlic Never, Ever, Ever.

1/15/16 - Home Made Sauce, the only way.

1/16/16 - Pork Cutlets from Frank & Sal's, they looked great but were a little gamey, oh well.

Potato Salad on the side.

1/17/16 - Aah Yes, home made Chicken Cutlets Breaded and Egged by Christina with Barilla Pasta, Broccoli Rabe and an Egg Ball, waste not want not.

1/18/16 - That's One Spicy Meatball, Red Pepper Flakes for character.

Fussili with Sauce, Grated Cheese & The Meatball.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

1/12/16 - Tandoor Chef brand Chicken Tikka Masala with Cumin Infused Basmati Rice - This is my second time enjoying this snack so I knew what I was in for. I was quite hesitant upon purchasing my first box as Frozen Rice scares me a great deal, how could they possibly get it right.

The Rice was fine and of the correct moistness and the white Meat Chicken pieces were just swell (I wanted to type Swell), there was only a five count in Chicken pieces but they were large enough to slice into twos and threes. Tikka Masala Sauce was just Spicy enough to please me but not too Spicy for a lightweight to enjoy.

Halfway through and the Rice was dumped into the Gravy, finished every grain.

THREE KINGS DAY at Caroline's

Three Kings Day is a holiday that commemorates the visiting of the Maji to the newly born Christ child and is also known as Epiphany in the Greek tradition, it is held in early January and this to my recollection is the first time Caroline celebrated with a Feast of sizable proportions

Pictured above is Pernil, Yucca with Garlic & Oil, Rice & Beans with Capers and Rellenos De Papa.

Being her first crack at Pernil amongst other delicacies (to my knowledge) Caroline was humbly hesitant in her success but I knew she could do it being the fine Chef she is.

The Pernil in all its Porky Glory.

This literally fell off the bone so I was not sure which pieces to take as I am an extremely fussy eater.

Didn't really matter though. Smokey took what he pleased from my plate.

Plantains and Rellenos De Papa which is a Potato Ball wrapped around Ground Meat. These were part of the Appetizers but went over super big with me, so much so that I had three of them.

Pauline also provided Avocado and Bermuda/Red Onion in a Vinaigrette Dressing.

For afters was a Lemon Cake (courtesy of Tasty Pastry), Coconut Bars by Laura and Cherry Puffs by Caroline.

Rice Pudding a la Santos made with several Creams and Coconut Milk.
