Delicious Coleslaw, Not Grinded Too Teeny Nor Too Big, Another Winner from Frank & Sal's.
The Foccacia and Lard Bread Counter. Hesitant to take the pic but glad I Did.
Chicken Francaise or Lemon Chicken.
Don't Matter, This Is IT.

NEW DYKER RESTAURANT 9/13 Brooklyn, New York
While making Meatloaf at home is a gratifying process it is also time consuming, add to that the Mashed Potato preparation is also a bit of a project so every now and then you just want your Goddamn Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes served to you and this is what I did. New Dyker Restaurant has always been right there on the busy block of 85th street and 18th avenue sandwiched between a convenience store/smoke shop, Sushi place, Tarot card reader along with a Dunkin Donuts, West End Bakery, Pizza Den and another convenience store on the opposite corner. I have eaten there maybe twice and it is an average diner at best but there is always the "chatter" from the old timers having their Coffee and Danish to make me feel right at home in Brooklyn proper.
I ordered a "take-out" of Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Corn (and Don't Forget The Gravy) ($12.50) and it did the job and was pretty much what I expected. At first there was a somewhat indiscernible sweet taste to the Meatloaf slices of which three thick slabs came in my order, I was thinking Rosemary ?, Nutmeg ? after a bit I decided it was the Ketchup the Meatloaf was basted in before baking but that was just fine in my book. This was served with Corn (upon my request) and Mashed Potatoes (Real and not powdered) which were just slightly watery but almost perfect.
Waiting on my food I was glancing at the Menu and the man on duty (probably shop owner) said "go ahead you can take one". I told him I had taken one (which I had) and mentioned to him "I was just looking to see if you made a Lime Rickey" to which he replied "of course, all you need is Cherry Syrup and Lime Syrup" to which I replied "But it's not on the menu", he said "aah, there are millions of things, we missed it when making the menu" I said "I will be back for the Lime Rickey" and I will, I Do Love me a Lime Rickey.
Along with my Dinner was offered Soup or Salad, I opted for the Soup. Chicken Noodle and Chicken Rice came up first but then was mentioned the Beef Barley and I chose that one. This was from the tin most obviously and was composed of the Vegetable/ ABC soup Beef stock, fine by me.
My order also came with Bread sliced old school of which I saved for sandwiches later on in the house.
My Take-Out order was also well stocked and came with 2 packets of Sunshine Krispy Saltines (for the Soup), 1 Butter Patty (I suppose for the Bread but I used it on the Corn), 2 packets each of "Chef's Quality" Salt and Pepper, Napkins and 1 Fork, 1 Spoon and 1 Butter Knife (Plastic).

MOON CAKES
Not being a big fan of Chinese Cakes I usually would not be so bold to "poot" forth So the Moon Cakes were a rather daunting expedition due to my western tongue literally (this translates into Taste Buds). I sauntered into my local Pork Bun/Bakery Shoppe craving a Steamed Pork Bun of which they were "Sold Out" but purchased a Strawberry Cake instead but while I was standing there an employee walked by carting a huge bakery kiosk of sweet smelling cake. Making small talk with the small asian girl behind the counter I said said "mmm,.. smells good what is that" and she replied "Moon Cake, you wanna buy some ?" without batting an eyelash or taking a half a breath I said "Oh, Moon Cake, Very Famous, no thank you". Upon reflection I realized that I know what a Moon Cake is only from playing Angry Bird - Seasons so it was quite humorous to me.
My Humor did get the best of me though, a few days later I went back and bought a variety pack of Moon Cakes (6 for $8.00) and was quickly explained what the flavors were but then went back again a day or two later so I could write down the flavors so I could describe them for my memory and on this very BLOG here. Here is my synopsis.
11/21/13 - I could not eat them, Too Dense and Sweet for me, Apologies.
Upon my return for Flavor description I once again asked for a Steamed Pork Bun but once again they were out but they did have the "Chinese Sausage" Bun of which I purchased one, I then went down the block and did attain my Steamed Pork Bun and Lo and Behold the waitress said "Buy one Get one Free" so I was in Porkish Bun Heaven, These were made wit Roast Pork (and fat) as opposed to Shredded Pork so the lines are being blurred these days.

EL POLLO lll - SALCHI-PAPAS - 9/6/13 Brooklyn, New York
Totally Delicious but it is just French Fries with Frankfurter(s), in this case Singular Frank. There are some Salchipapa Rules to adhere by in my experience and this was missing the Salad and Sauces, as I mentioned to a friend though "What do You Expect for $4.00" so totally cool with me and I made my own Salchipapas 3 times with the leftover Fries (see pic below) so it was a success and I will be back.
The Appetizer portion of the Menu. I walked in on my way to the post office to claim some wayward Twinkies my friend Lori sent, Browsed the Menu on the way out, Walked right back in and ordered (1) Salchi-Papas, Hot Footed to the post office and then stood on a short line for a long time all the while thinking My Salchi-Papas are ready and getting colder.
El Pollo lll Exterior or is it El Pollo lV, Hard to tell due to the artwork on the sign itself but in Roman numerals lV is not llll, will have to "Google" this.
Homeade Salchi-Papas comprising Leftover Fries from the previous order, one Frozen Nathan Frankfurter Nuked and Fresh Express 50/50 Salad topped with Wish Bone Vinaigrette Dressing.
